Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang Says China’s Military Can’t Rely on U.S. Chips Due to Export Limits
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang stated in a CNN interview that China's military cannot depend on American-made technology, including Nvidia chips, due to U.S. export restrictions. Huang emphasized the instability of relying on foreign tech for defense systems, noting that access could be "limited at any time."
Huang's comments come ahead of his second trip to China this year, as Nvidia navigates geopolitical tensions while maintaining its dominance in AI hardware. He argued that China already possesses sufficient domestic computing power and doesn't require Nvidia's technology for military advancements.
The Nvidia CEO also criticized U.S. export rules as "counterproductive," warning they undermine America's ability to set the global tech standard. "We want the American tech stack to be the global standard," Huang said, advocating for broader access beyond allied nations.
